Yes. Its been a long time since I rambled. So let me start with what I do best. Ramble.
These long, humid and boring days have left me with one, I should say, bad habit. I browse a lot on social networks and I come across a lot of interesting people. Some, however have caught more of my attention than others. So let me list their attributes to mark their existence.
). There a lot of pretentious and deluded people around.(More than you can ever imagine actually).
). These people, have issues with THEMSELVES. However, love to blame their silly actions being caused by the provocation by others.
). They love their online persona(a make believe one) and try to act accordingly(foolishly).
). Self proclamations and trivial descriptions are in abundance. But,I'm starting to think, they are formed due to their willful thinking, which never comes to an end.
). They are deluded into thinking that others, are in desperate need to know of how dirty their linen is. My god! Its oppressive, stop whining and shut the hell up!
). Some even amuse us with make-believe appearances. The sloppy yet strenuous editing done to numerous images are actually horrendous looking. Indian girls, in particular, I've noticed, try tirelessly to 'glow' themselves till they look ghastly white(only applies to the face, neck down its back to good ol' Indian flavour). You know, its really okay that you don't have flawless skin and you're a bit tanned, but whats with the orangery or yellowish look posing in a black background?
). Well, carrying on, there are some who think that they are all that when they are certainly not! Like I once met a girl who kept going on about her law profession when she is just a paralegal( I nearly died laughing, I tell you.). There are many 'alikes' online. You can be all that with being who you really are. You don't have to brag about your luxurious lifestyle or the high- ended splendor of brand names you want people to believe that you will buy or you have.. Many, let me remind you guys, only make this statements with the money that they probably got as allowance from their parents or supplementary cards they got. Some earned it with part time jobs I agree. But, with parents' money or the measly wages from part time jobs, can you really derive a satisfaction that YOU CAN AFFORD IT? Deluded aren't ya?
)I know many of us adore and look up to many others. But to what extent do you actually outright-ly COPY them? Same poses, same make-up, same fashion sense, same favourite everything! How about growing a brain of your own? What makes it worse is that some only do it to spite the party whom they are replicating. Originality comes from within and replication, really, reflects nothing at all. Some, who can't even afford the style to replicate, still do it. Its quite sad actually because allowances when you're in college isn't so high and you probably had to put up a shameless wish list for your birthday.
)Why is it that some people, and I mean adults(21 years and above) are still so impressionable? One moment they are simple Janes and the next they are so many Sarah Jessica Parkers running all over. Being impressionable at this age and acting like a moron exudes a sense of sympathy from me, sometimes ONLY. But the rest of the time, it makes me laugh non stop with my friends as we chat about it over dinner.
). Finally, I would like to talk about myself. Yes, being part of the social network which some worship and have to try their best to prevent stalkers and so have to 'restrict' themselves, I, Punitha K, together with my friends, am so glad that we are DIFFERENT! This is probably why we get along so well. We can be crazy bitches ever ready for lame fights with other conceited people(not forgetting that we don't have a problem to own up to what we did, while others have such a tough time doing so), but at the end of the day, we are ourselves and that's what makes us different.
