Saturday night fever in orchard

After a gruelling walk in the super humid Bugis street, with the people packed like sardines( some smelling like one too) inching their way, i thought arriving in orchard would be a relief. I was wrong, once again. As soon as i came out of orchard Mrt station, i realized loads of people were walking everywhere. i found an empty seat outside waiting for my cousins and began doing what i do best-people watch.

There were numerous groups of mats and minahs, dressed up with their so called retro attires, prancing around everywhere. Mats with their black leather jackets and cowboy shoes and minahs with their tubes as micro mini skirts. How about a size smaller? that was meant to be sarcastic. by the way.

I saw a couple of gals with jeans and boots, sounds chic right?, but the boots were worn over the jeans, not under them. Trying to pull off a Jessica Simpson stunt with incorrectly worn boots is sure not gonna get any guy taking a second glance.Just where do they get their sense of style?

Another group consisted of the ones with unflattering cotton floral printed baby doll dresses with sleeves up to your elbows worn with jeans. I know the 60's and 70's floral printed dresses are making a comeback but when clad with jeans? For me, these ridiculous looking dresses are totally off, i don't think anyone, for that matter can pull it off, unless, of course if you are Paris Hilton or somebody, where the only thing that accentuate her celebriti-ness is her rarely relatively good dressing.

After observing a few more, i realized many with the infamous leggings, which seems so 'in' now. Sadly many wore them with skirts. Yes! , and i am not talking about any 12 year old trying to look older.

Ladies and their sense of fashion really gets me amused sometimes. Dressed in something which is 'in' now wont get you the head to toe looks in awe, you are looking for. Coordinating your whole outfit with perfection will set you more in a trendy mode. How about looking at how the mannequins dress in certain labels, for starters?
